Re: Children's Crusade to have big impact on Marvel's future

Callisto was part of X-Cell. And her ORIGINAL powers were enhanced senses (and then Masque gave her tentacle arms and, I believe, enhanced strength). And X-Cell were sucked into Abyss when his powers were briefly amplified with Terrigen Crystals, so they could easily return whenever Peter David felt...

Re: Children's Crusade to have big impact on Marvel's future

I'm definitely curious as to how the whole repowering thing's going to work (and in X-Factor #225, we see David using a powered Rictor. Which should give us some insight). As for depowered mutants...there's Mesmero, Blob, Unus (though I guess he's dead), Jubilee, Prodigy, Moonstar, Marrow, Abyss, Re...

Why, hello there.

I'm David Ellis, also known as wyze2099 ("wyze" is pronounced like, "wise", in case you were wondering).

I'm 31, and I'm a longtime comics, writing, and roleplaying geek. I'm even podcasting these days, and you can find the link to that in my signature. So ... hi!

Marvel to Kill a Character Every Quarter

Source. From the ComicsPro retailer summit, David Gabriel, VP Sales at Marvel Comics has announced that as a result of the Fantastic Four sales and media coverage, Marvel are going to kill a main character every quarter. He also added “this is not a joke”. So...start the betting. Who dies in the su...

Character Appearances not Showing Up

Am I missing something obvious or are the Character Appearances screwed up? I added character appearances to a few of the New Universe books earlier, notably Psi-Force, but they don't seem to be showing in the 'Appearances of' pages. Michael Crawley, for instance, has 39 Character Appearances showin...

Re: HELP! Any good reason I should watch Young Justice?

Thanks for that...it looks very good. I wasn't a JLA fan, more of a Batman/ Superman Adventures fan but it looks good. The problem is that everytime I read an article about it they mentioned, "Based on the 1990s DC Comics title created primarily by Todd DeZago, Peter David and Todd Nauck"....

Re: Category Overload

It's not just large, it's large and fairly unnecessary. I mean, what qualifies as a source for someone being a sociopath? I can think of times when Captain America's called Punisher a sociopath. Or Wolverine's been called it by someone. Or Spider-Man by J. Jonah Jameson. Or Deadpool by...everyone. O...

Re: Good place to start reading Hulk and Spider-Man?

If you couldn't deal with the sixties style of storytelling on X-Men, I doubt there's much point in you starting early on Spider-Man or Hulk either (I love that stuff, personally-must be a generational thing). I'd suggest starting with Peter David's first run on Hulk (issue #328, 1986) or maybe a li...

Re: X-Men collected editions

That is a massive question. I'd say the best way to collate the data is to work backwards from the event you'd like to end with, and compile the list one series at a time. I'd say the major issue with creating this is that not every storyline is made into a collection, only those believed to sell we...

Re: Staff photos

Okay, here's the rest of them. My next task is to email them all, invite them to check out their page and add stuff to it, and then stick around and help out the site. Let me know what you think of this email: Greetings, Last month I attended Comic-Con in San Diego and asked if I could take a pictu...

Re: Captain America

90's Nick Fury movie staring David Hastlehoff, has to be seen to be believed  I always liked it. So did I, in a guilty pleasure kind of way. Though I always felt rather sorry for Andreas Strucker, the only member of the family they didn't bother to include. Even Werner Von Strucker made it i...
