Main page polls are up! For right now, we will try it out weekly. Depending on the response we see, we may have to adjust the time to a monthly or biweekly. Anyhow, first poll is of course about a major Marvel movie, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Check it out and you can change your votes before the poll closes. :)

If any changes need to be made to the poll, tell us as soon as you see the mistake. If we adjust the options, it will erase the numbers -- so let us know ASAP. Thanks and vote your heart out!

Should we be able to vote multiple times? Or am I just special?

You can vote multiple times, but it does not allow your vote (under your IP) to be recounted. It WILL though let you change your vote (and it will look like you can vote multiple times, but it's not counted, if you try). It's a 1 vote per IP.

Really? Because I voted twice. And saw the same option go from 2 to 3, then 3 to 4. Unless I COMPLETELY misunderstood what you just said. In which case...I'll just go sit in my corner and be quiet for a while.

Grrr...not supposed to: as long as you are logged in... On mine, it will change my past votes (minus) and add it to a new vote. Not sure though if it will change if you vote, then logout and vote. :?

I was logged in both times, but I had closed my browser for a bit (and, as such, left the site for a bit. I assume that's equivalent to logging off and on).

Still...let me change my vote and I should see N/A drop to 14 and Rocked raise to 52. Hopefully others aren't voting as I do it.

Tried voting for the same thing twice? Maybe because you're not changing the vote, you're adding to it, it can't quite do its own math.

That's the thing...I can click NA and vote all day and it does not raise it (except for my first time). It will though allow me to submit a vote on another option and lower the NA by 1 (essentially MOVING my vote from one option to the other). If I refresh the page/cache, it keeps the amounts the same as my last overall vote. I am not seeing what you are experiencing. :?

For instance this is what I see on my screen (1st paste is from my vote just now...for It Rocked!, the 2nd paste is showing my vote change. I also re-saved the Main Page in-between to make sure no one else voted and changed the numbers).

What did you think of the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine film?

It rocked! A great film to watch! (I VOTED LAST FOR THIS OPTION)
58

It was good.
24

Just another movie...wait for the DVD.
2

Disappointed in it.
10

Hated it! I want my money back!
5

(N/A) Haven't seen it. (You can change your vote by the end of the poll.)
16

Doesn't seem to be doing it now. So maybe someone just happened to vote for the exact same thing as I did as I tested to see if you could vote twice.

Hope so...let me know though if it starts acting up! From the look of things (and if the 1 vote per IP option holds true, I'd say we're doing VERY WELL with having an active poll on the site. If you have access to the Google Analytics (admins only), I'd say you should see how many unique visitors to the main page we've had in the past 2 days alone!!! AWESOME!!! We've had twice the number of unique users on our main page than we normally do a day. We jumped from about 15,000 unique views to 30,000!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!

Also interesting note, on Google, we jumped above all the other "Marvel" searches to be in 2nd place on their site. Amazing! We are now JUST behind Marvel.com when you search "Marvel"...we're above Wikipedia! Sweet!

We are definitely improving... but I don't see us THAT high. I see us at the bottom of page 1. (Below Marvel.com, Wikipedia and a few others)
What does everyone else see?

LOL! I guess I must have "upped" my google choices at some point. Not even sure I knew I could do that.
